The first stanza of Carlton Young’s hymn, “This Is a Day of New Beginnings,” encourages:

This is a day of new beginnings, time to remember and move on,
time to believe what love is bringing, laying to rest the pain that’s gone.

I believe this is a new day for the Middle TN Choristers Guild chapter. We remember many great Directors’ Workshops, Children’s Choir Festivals and Handbell Festivals that we have held and attended.

This year is a year of regrouping for our Board. We will be taking time to plan for the 2015-2016 year, but we need your input. We need to know what kind of activities interest you and your choirs, and we need interested persons who are willing to serve on our Board!

What would serving on the Board look like to you? Would you be available for some face to face meetings, but willing to meet via email or computer at other times? With our membership scattered across middle Tennessee, we are going to have to be creative in our approach!

Choristers Guild has been instrumental in my teaching and directing, and I hope it will be for many others of you.

How can we help you? How can you help us?

Please let me hear from you (amycooper@comcast.net).

Amy Cooper
Middle TN Choristers Guild President

P.S. In the meantime, check out Atlanta or Louisville’s Choristers Guilds to see what events are taking place.

Finally, if you are looking for inspiration, former CG president Bekah Caruso is ready to give away her single copy file of children's anthems/musicals, much of which is CG-published material. If you are interested, email bcaruso@bellsouth.net, with "Choristers Guild Music to Share” in the subject line.
